A Beginning

Welcome to the inaugural entry of my website. I must say, the realization is dawning that creating an introductory post feels nearly as challenging and revealing as trying to create an online dating profile. A sense of proverbial nakedness. Though whether anyone even actually sees this is up to the fates. In all likelihood, this will ultimately equate to an insect shouting into a hurricane with about the same results. But we shall see.

The question, blaring like a klaxon in my head, seems to be what is left to be said? What inviolate ground is there left to be trodden? Finding authenticity and originality during the days of seemingly ubiquitous usage of artificial intelligence presents a noteworthy challenge. The Life magazine motto from the movie above is a paraphrased and shortened version of a statement from Henry Luce, its founder, while outlining his vision for the publication. I believe it captures the spirit of the sentiment and holds a resonance to which a lot of folks can relate. The movie holds a special place in my heart for various reasons and I do recommend it, though it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

My intent will be to use this as a creative outlet and display for my photography, writings, and various creations. Perhaps expanding into other areas and/or making things available to purchase. Presenting works to hopefully entertain and be enjoyed. And perhaps most importantly, to feel.
